Very interesting infographic, published in The Atlantic, mapping cultural values. Apparently the study is by Ronald Inglehart of the Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan. Data seems to be collected via census, the last data available is from 2001. I suspect that there is a fair amount of debateability in the results plotted here . Certainly I have no doubt that since 2001 the U.S.A. has reversed direction on the horizontal axis. Canada seems in about the right place at least for its urban majority (we do have a fair population of survivalists). And are the Swedes extremists or what? I had no idea…
