Bob Frankston hits the “network neutrality” nail squarely on the head in his article “ بوب frankston يضرب "شبكة الحياد" مسمار مباشرة على الرأس في مقالته " Our Internet! لدينا شبكة الانترنت! ” "

We are the Internet…We don’t need be given “Internet” by a central authority because the defining principle is that we can and must connect from the edge rather than relying on carrier be it a Telco or “Internet Inc”…It’s time we took control over our local transport – just as we own the wires in our homes and the roads in our communities we must also own our local information transports. ونحن على شبكة الانترنت… ونحن لسنا في حاجة الى ان تعطى "الانترنت" من قبل السلطة المركزية ، لأن المبدأ الأساسي هو ان تحديد يمكننا ويجب علينا ربط من على حافة المنطقة بدلا من الاعتماد على الناقل سواء كان telco او "لجنة التفاوض الحكوميه الدولية الانترنت"… ' ق اخذنا الوقت لدينا السيطرة على النقل المحلي -- وكما اننا الاسلاك الخاصة بها في منازلنا والطرق في مجتمعاتنا المحلية الخاصة بها ويجب علينا ايضا ان لدينا معلومات وسائل النقل المحلية.

We must not tolerate being forced to buy services from providers that have a stranglehold on our wires – whether they are physical wires or radios. ويجب ألا يتسامح مع الاضطرار الى شراء من مقدمي الخدمات التي خانقه على اعمالنا اسلاك -- سواء كانت ماديه أو الأسلاك وأجهزة اللاسلكي. Today our ability to communicate is limited by the unenlightened business needs of the carriers. اليوم قدرتنا على التواصل محدودة بسبب unenlightened احتياجات الاعمال التجارية للشركات. This is intolerable and inexcusable. وهذا أمر لا يمكن التسامح لا يغتفر.

The situation is tolerated because it seems obvious that we need someone to govern and operate the Internet. الحاله التسامح لانه يبدو من الواضح اننا بحاجة الى من تحكم وتشغيل شبكة الانترنت.

We don’t. ونحن لا. The expedient compromises that define today’s Internet are not necessary. الاسراع الحلول الوسط التي تحدد اليوم على شبكة الانترنت ليست ضروريه. We do not need an organization to hand out identifiers. نحن لسنا بحاجة الى منظمة لتحديد الهوية من ناحية بها. we do need not an omniscient network operator to keep track of all the local networks and relationships. نحن في حاجة الى كلى العلم ليست مشغل الشبكه لتتبع جميع الشبكات المحلية والعلاقات. Most of all, we do not need a centralized directory to assign names. والأهم من كل شيء ، نحن لسنا بحاجة الى دليل مركزي لاسناد الاسماء.

What Bob describes is the principle behind the inherent freedom of the internet, and the reason why “network neutrality” is so important to the continued evolution of the internet. بوب ويصف ما هو المبدأ الكامن وراء حرية الانترنت ، والسبب في "شبكة الحياد" امر بالغ الاهميه لاستمرار وتطور شبكة الانترنت. Since the internet is emergent from the interaction of its endpoints, there is no need for centralized control, which is in fact antithetical to the very existence of the internet. منذ الانترنت الناشءه من التفاعل من نهايات ، وليس هناك حاجة لالرقابة المركزية ، والتي هي في الحقيقة مضاد لوجود شبكة الانترنت. The internet would simply not exist if control was centralized. شبكة الانترنت ببساطة غير موجودة واذا كانت السيطرة المركزية.

Freedom from the Internet…If the Internet itself arises from taking control ourselves outside the network then we needn’t be dependent upon Internet Inc! التحرر من شبكة الانترنت… واذا كان ناشئا عن الانترنت نفسها السيطرة على انفسنا خارج الشبكه ثم اننا لسنا بحاجة الى ان تعتمد لجنة التفاوض الحكوميه الدولية على شبكة الانترنت!

This is not at all theory. وهذا ليس على الاطلاق من الناحية النظريه. It’s practiced every day in the P2P world. انه يمارس كل يوم في العالم P2P. P2P is really just a rediscovery of the basic End-to-End principle of the Internet. P2P حقا هو مجرد إعادة اكتشاف الاساسية البداية الى النهاية من حيث المبدأ للانترنت. Unfortunately that’s often confused with Womb-to-Tomb because it’s hard for people to understand how you can make promises without having full control of every element of the network. ومما يؤسف له ان هذا الخلط في كثير من الاحيان الى رحم القبر لأنه من الصعب على الناس ان يفهموا كيف يمكن ان تقدم وعودا من دون السيطرة الكاملة على كل عنصر من عناصر الشبكه. The Internet isn’ta network like the phone network – it’s just a word we use for what happens when those with nothin’ to lose and everything to gain get together. Isn'ta شبكة الانترنت مثل شبكة الهاتف -- لكنه ما لبث ان نستخدم كلمة لماذا يحدث عند تلك شيئا ويخسر كل شيء للحصول على العمل معا. They form their own communities. وهي تشكل مجتمعاتهم المحلية.

I believe strongly that if the internet as we know it becomes overly constrained by commercial interests, the forces that created it will have no avenue other than to create a new internet. واني اعتقد اعتقادا قويا انه اذا كان الانترنت كما نعلم انه يصبح مفرطه بسبب المصالح التجارية ، التي انشأتها القوات لن يكون لها اي وسيلة اخرى غير لتهيئة جديدة على شبكة الانترنت. Perhaps the newcomer will be akin to the “Metaverse” in ولعل الجديد سيكون اقرب الى "metaverse" في Snow Crash تحطم الثلج .

I’m not sure how we will take back the ‘net but P2P overlay networks seem to be part of the answer, you can tell they get it right because they scare the hell out of the telcos. لست متأكدا كيف سنتخذ العودة 'صافية ولكن تراكب شبكات P2P يبدو ان جزءا من الجواب ، يمكنك ان تقول انها الحق في الحصول عليها لانها تخيف الجحيم من telcos. Skype is a great example of a network build on top of a network. Skype هو مثالا عظيما للشبكة بناء فوق الشبكه. Web services could create another similar layer. خدمات الشبكه العالمية يمكن ان تخلق طبقة اخرى مماثلة. It will be fascinating to see how this plays out. وسيكون من المدهش ان نرى كيف يلعب هذا.
