Now is a truly amazing time to be alive for the curious and adventurous - opportunities to do what you enjoy for a living have never been better. الان هو الوقت لمن المدهش حقا ان يكون على قيد الحياة لافتة للوالمغامره -- فرص ان تفعل ما تستمتع لحية لم تكن ابدا افضل. The information available on obscure interests is amazing. المعلومات المتاحة عن يحجب المصالح مدهشه. There is lots to be optimistic about as the future will continue to bring new possibilities. وهناك الكثير الى التفاؤل في المستقبل كما ستواصل تقديم امكانيات جديدة. And yet it seems that the inertia of the majority of the population, at least in North America, has been heading in the opposite direction for some time, cruising along on the achievements of previous generations while simultaneous taking advantage of the economies of scale afforded by the continuing advancements produced by a small minority. ولكن يبدو ان القصور الذاتي للغالبية العظمى من السكان ، على الاقل فى أمريكا الشمالية ، وكان العنوان في الاتجاه المعاكس لبعض الوقت ، الى جانب المبحره على انجازات الاجيال السابقة في وقت واحد في حين ان الاستفادة من وفورات الحجم التي تتيحها استمرار التقدم تنتج من قبل اقلية صغيرة.

Culturally out of favour are education, particularly math, anything perceived as complicated and inaccessible. ثقافيا هم من اصل لصالح التعليم ، ولا سيما الرياضيات ، كل شيء وينظر اليها على انها معقدة ويصعب الوصول اليها. In favour is the continued pursuit of material wealth, indiscriminate politically driven praise in both the corporate and parenting worlds coupled with an “egalitarian” rather than competetive worldview where you don’t have to work hard for fulfillment. صالح هو استمرار السعي الى الثروة الماديه ، مدفوعه سياسيا العشوائي الثناء في كل من الشركات والابوه والامومه العالمين تقترن "المساواة" بدلا من competetive العالمية حيث لم يكن لديك والعمل الجاد من اجل التنفيذ. Drugs are prescribed indiscriminately to treat the perpetual anxiety of not being happy - a state probably brought on by the general lack of real achievement. العقاقير الموصوفه بشكل عشوائي لعلاج دائم القلق من عدم سعيد -- دولة ربما نجمت عن النقص العام في انجاز حقيقي. Personal responsibility is at an all time low and feel-good, quick-fix books are as numerous as anti-depressants. المسؤولية الشخصيه هي في كل مرة أشعر - ومنخفضه جيدة ، سريعه هي كما كتب العديد من مضادة للاكتئاب.

And now from society over to business: It seems that the last few decades of business have seen a trend of ownership with reduced personal responsibility. والآن اكثر من مجتمع الاعمال التجارية ل: يبدو ان العقود القليلة الماضية من الاعمال التجارية شهدت اتجاه انخفاض فى الملكيه مع المسؤولية الشخصيه. Corporations “externalize” as much risk as possible to the lowest bidder without proper regard to the consequences. الشركات "خارجي" اكبر قدر ممكن من المخاطر الى أدنى حد من مقدمي العروض دون ايلاء المراعاه الواجبه لعواقب. Society seems to be more addicted than ever to the quick fix while avoiding difficult, critical thinking. ويبدو ان المجتمع المدمنين اكثر من اي وقت مضى الى اصلاح سريع مع تجنب الصعبة ، والتفكير النقدي. Lawyers seem to have convinced us to be irrationally afraid of any risk and therefore have managed to profitably and irreversibly insert themselves as middlemen in almost everything. ويبدو ان المحامين قد اقنعتنا ان تكون غير عقلانيه خائف من اي خطر ، وبالتالي تمكنت من الارباح وبشكل لا رجعة فيه وسطاء تدرج نفسها في كل شيء تقريبا. Somehow along the way established big businesses have started convincing the public that obvious ideas, or even human genes and molecules that have evolved in nature are (absurdly) not public domain but in fact licenceable “intellectual property.” See this excellent الى حد ما على طول الطريق انشاء الشركات التجارية الكبيرة وبدأت اقناع الجمهور أن الأفكار واضحة ، أو حتى الجينات البشريه والجزيئات التي تطورت في الطبيعة (بحماقه) ليست ملكا لكنها في الواقع licenceable "الملكيه الفكريه". انظر هذا الممتاز brief review of the topic at the Register استعراض موجز للموضوع في السجل . Gone are the days where it matters to the patent office that you have a truly groundbreaking concept which is actually implementable. ذهبت هي أيام فيها الامور الى مكتب براءات الاختراع ان لديك حقا فتحا المفهوم الذي هو في الواقع للتنفيذ. Today’s intellectual property goes to those with deep pockets and audacity to claim the incredibly obvious. اليوم الملكيه الفكريه تلك التي تذهب الى جيوب عميقة والجراه في المطالبة بشكل واضح.

So the questions for 2006: حتى الاسءله التي لعام 2006 :

• How do we make competetive education a priority and improve the general public’s aptitude to think creatively, constructively and critically? كيف يمكننا ان competetive جعل التعليم اولويه وتحسين الرأي العام الموهبه على التفكير بشكل خلاق وبناء وحاسمة؟
• How do we increase the will to take personal responsibility and improve our work ethics? كيف يمكننا زيادة الاستعداد لاتخاذ المسؤولية الشخصيه وتحسين عملنا الاخلاق؟
• How do we incent businesses to manage themselves sustainably assuming responsibility for the total costs and risks of any venture? كيف يمكننا ان incent الاعمال التجارية لادارة مستدامه انفسهم تحمل المسؤولية عن المخاطر والتكاليف الاجماليه من اي مغامره؟
• How do we retake ownership of our ideas? كيف يمكننا ان الاستيلاء على ملكيه أفكارنا؟
