While we are all caught up with the present warring in the Middle East this short video timeline infographic reminds us that the history of conflict in the Middle East is ancient and storied:

I had to look up the Caliphate and Saladin…and this is just an ultra macroscopic overview. No doubt the history of conflict has had a deep and long term influence on culture and attitudes, I wonder over how many generation such effects can be measured.
