Roll your own web application startup – an entreprenneur’s Code

October 25th, 2006 | by ian |

Choose a problem which frustrates you on a daily basis that you think you can solve. You shouldn’t have to look far. Passion is key, make sure you can get worked up about it.

Hone your powers of concentration. They are your brain’s “killer app.”

Learn to communicate succinctly.

Design efficiently and effectively.

Embrace what works.

Avoid common pitfalls.

Environment matters.

Don’t get distracted by “Web 2.0”

Get Real. Seriously. Get it.

And remember in all this that as with the Pirate Code:

the Code is more what you’d call “guidelines” than actual rules

‘Nuff said!
