Visualizing scale

A great collection of scale visualizations. Worth a quick browse if you want to regain some perspective on the universe (photo from visualization of planet scale

Signal Versus Noise is the blog of 37 Signals, a company which has shattered the usefulness to complexity ratio with apps I use daily such as Basecamp and Backpack. More recently they are making a name for themselves by moving beyond setting an example, and actually empowering application designers and programmers with the knowledge to build their own sustainable businesses with publications such as:
Intro to patterns (on information architecture)
Getting Real (book on how to build your own software success story)
Highly recommended.

The imagess at would make great wallpapers, if they were a decent res. and the text was either
    a) missing
    b) more integral into the design.
